ARTEMIS : The Little Gallery By The Sea
The original Artemis Gallery in Apalachicola, Florida was opened by Hollis Vail in the early 90's. After a number of years of struggling to keep alive in the sleepy town which had yet to be discovered by enough visitors to generate enough business to pay the light bills and the help, she abandoned her dream of owning a gallery showcasing local art and artists and went into the Real Estate business. Now, having been involved in the growth of the area and missing the gallery immensely, Hollis has partnered with Jan Gorman and the two friends have re-opened the Artemis Gallery in Apalachicola's beautiful new High Cotton building. The Artemis Gallery and Boutique is located on the west side of High Cotton, just down Commerce Street from the original gallery and right in the heart of Apalachicola's beautiful historic shopping district.
The Artemis Gallery continues in the tradition of the original, carrying the work of a wide range of artists and artisans, with a focus on local or regional artists and original art. The Gallery and Boutique also carries prints from some of their artists, a number of lines of beautiful boutique clothing, jewelry and accessories as well as some unique gifts and cards.
Our Online Shop makes the work of selected artists available online and also carries some nice prints, pottery and gifts, all available with secure online payment and fast shipping directly to you.

Meet the Artist
"The Doors of Apalachicola"
Your are cordially invited to a Meet The Artist Reception, Friday November 14th, 2008 from 6 PM to 8 PM. On display will be the nineteen original watercolors that comprise the poster. Show will be hung through the end of December.
Our poster will be available in The Artemis Gallery as well as in our booth at the upcoming Florida Seafood Festival and here online.
