
The holiday season is in full swing in Apalachicola. Santa has visited the children here in town and on the Island as well as in Eastpoint and Carrabelle. There will be a Community Christmas Program at Historic Trinity Church in Apalachicola on Sunday December 16. The Bay Area Choral Society, the First Methodist Church Bell Choir, the Eastpoint Church of God Women's Quintet, and the Riverkeeper Quartet will fill the church with sounds of the season. The finale has become an anticipated tradition: The Choral Society and audience singing the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel's Messiah! Admission donation $2.00. Starts at 4:00 p.m.

Chef David Carrier of Ave Sea at the Gibson is planning a Black Tie & Blue Jean Ball On New Year's Eve from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
The evening will be an extravaganza of Avenue Sea's fine cuisine, and there will be live music by The Eric Culberson Blues Band from Savannah, Georgia.
There will be dancing under the stars, games on the lawn, a champagne toast at midnight, and Apalachicola's first New Year's Eve ball drop! The cost of the event is$120 per person, tax and gratuity included. For reservations, please call Avenue Sea at 653-2193.
Chef Eddie's Magnolia Grill is throwing a New Years party featuring Sir Charles Atkins, The King of the Blues. There will be party favors and a big oak bonfire in the fire pit.
Chef Eddie is preparing a six course meal with a variety of entrees planned.
There will be two seatings, 6 and 6:30 p.m. for dinner only ($69.95), and two seatings, 8 and 8:30 p.m. that include dinner, entertainment and a champagne toast at midnight ($89.95).
