The original Artemis Gallery in Apalachicola, Florida was opened by Hollis Vail in the early 90's. After a number of years of struggling to keep alive in the sleepy town which had yet to be discovered by enough visitors to generate enough business to pay the light bills and the help, she abandoned her dream of owning a gallery showcasing local art and artists and went into the Real Estate business.
